Winter Classes

Just a reminder that I'll be teaching a winter garden journaling class at Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha next week. This is such a fun class. We make a mini journal like the one above that can stand on its own or fold out of a larger journal. If you are coming to the class, feel free to bring some of your favorite quotes, photos for collage, etc. We'll have art supplies and plant material for you to work with, and lots of inspiration!

I'm also teaching at Pioneers Park in Lincoln, NE as part of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Great Plains Chapter. See the listing below. This is going to be an inspirational nature sketching class, so I'll be sharing examples from my own winter nature journals, talking about subjects and materials, and then we'll have lots of time to sketch. You'll need to bring your favorite art/sketching supplies along.

Winter Classes

At Lauritzen Gardens:

-Winter Journal Class, Feb. 6 and 7, 6-8 pm.

All supplies provided. Come join us as we make a small journal that celebrates the beauty of the season using found materials for inspiration. This journal can stand on its own or be used as an insert in a larger sketchbook. We'll provide the materials, but feel free to bring in favorite quotes, photos for collage, and other personal materials. Sign up here on the Lauritzen website:

-Drawing Flowers Class. Feb. 20 and 21, and March 5 and 6, 6-8 pm.

This is a repeating class with different flowers every time. I'll feature seasonal flowers, so the variety depends on what flowers are at peak that week. Learn more about the flowers and their floral families as we sketch them, and explore colored pencil techniques, too. We'll provide the materials, but if you have favorite pencils or a sketchbook, feel free to bring those in. Sign up here on the Lauritzen website:

At Pioneers Park Nature Center in Lincoln, NE:

-Nature Sketching in Winter

Feb. 17, 10 am -2pm. This class is with the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Great Plains Chapter. Come and sketch with us and get ideas for your nature sketchbook! We'll discuss winter-specific subjects, materials, and strategies for winter sketching. You will need to bring your favorite art supplies, a sketchbook, and a sack lunch. For registration and more information, please contact Pioneers Park Nature Center at (402) 441-7895.

Thank you for checking in, and I hope to see you in one of my classes!

-Camille
